Why Use Stainless Steel ?
Stainless Steel provides an attractive, stylish and contemporary solution, which is really easy to clean and very low maintenance! Stainless steel is known for its ability to be a clean surface that resists corrosion and rust and therefore has a long term appearance. This makes Stainless Steel suitable for a very wide range of applications. Stainless steel can be manipulated and fabricated using a wide range of commonly available engineering techniques and are fully “recyclable” at the end of their useful life.

What is stainless steel?
'Stainless' is a term coined early in the development of steels for cutlery applications. It was adopted as a generic name for these steels and now covers a wide range of steel types and grades for corrosion or oxidation resistant applications. Stainless steels are iron alloys with a minimum of 10.5% chromium. Other alloying elements are added to enhance their structure and properties.
Grade
The grade of stainless steel has a major influence on its performance and needs to be matched to the environment. We currently fabricate using Grades 304 & 316.
Surface Finish
The influence of grade on the performance of stainless steel is fairly well known. However, it is not so well known that surface finish has an equally important role in determining corrosion resistance. Poor quality polished finishes can lead to disappointing performance of stainless steel. We fabricate in many finishes using standard Stainless Steel sheets and Rimex Stainless Steel Products. |
